 RAINY SEASON BATTERY WATER INGRESS MANAGEMENT AND MONSOON POLICY

 

  1. PREAMBLE

 

1.1 In view of the operational, electrical and safety has associated with electric vehicle usage the monsoon season, including risks relating in battery watering thermal incidents, rider safety, public safety and environmental exposure, Cosmic EV [“Company“] has adopted this Rainy Season Battery Water Ingress Management & Monsoon Operations Policy [ “Policy”]

 

1.2 This Policy establishes mandatory operational, inspection, maintenance, reporting and emergency response protocols applicable to all electric vehicles, batteries and associated electrical operated, deployed, leased or managed by the Company

 

  1. OBJECTIVE

 

2.1. The objective of this Policy is to ensure safe monsoon operations of electric vehicles, prevent battery and electrical damage arming from water ingress, minimise operational disruption, reduce fire and electrical hazards, protect riders and Company assets, and ensure adherence to prescribed operational and safety standards

 

  1. 3. APPLICABILITY

 

3.1. This Policy shall apply to all riders, delivery partners, customers, employees, contractors, flees operators and authorised personnel using, operating, handling or maintaining Company vehicles, batteries, charging systems or electrical components

 

  1. DEFINITIONS

 

“Battery” shall mean the lithium-ion battery pack together with the Battery Management System (BA5) charging systems, controllers and associated electrical components installed in the vehicle

 

Water Ingress” shall mean any unintended entry of water, moisture or liquid into the battery compartment, charging system, motor, controller, wiring or any electrical component of the vehicle

 

“Monsoon Season” shall mean the period commencing from [1st June] to [30th November] of each year or such extended duration as may be notified by the Company based on operational, climatic or safety conditions. Annual rainfall policy.

 

“Rider” shall mean any customer, delivery partner, employce, operator or authorised person operating the Company’s electric vehicles.

 

  1. MONSOON SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

 

5.1. All Riders and users of Company vehicles shall strictly comply with all safety advisories, operational protocols and maintenance directions issued by the Company during the Monsoon Season.

 

5.2. Vehicles shall not be driven through waterlogged roads where water levels exceed 150 millimetres) or reach above the lower footboard, motor casing or battery compartment level Riders shall immediately discontinue operation where road visibility, drainage conditions of water depth creates risk of submersion or electrical exposure.

5.3. Vehicles shall not remain parked for more than [30 minutes) in flood-prone, low-lying or waterlogged areas. Overnight parking in open rain-exposed areas without adequate cover shall be prohibited tech.

5.4. Battery compartments, charging ports and electrical systems shall at all times remain dry, sealed and protected from moisture exposure. Riders shall inspect charging ports and battery seals before the commencement of the first ride of each day and additionally after every exposure to heavy rainfall exceeding [30 minutes) in duration prior to charging the vehicle.

5.5. Charging of vehicles shall only be undertaken in dry, ventilated and covered locations using Company-approved chargers and accessories. Charging shall not be undertaken during active rainfall, lightning activity or where standing water is present within a radius of [2 metres] from the charging point.

5.6 Vehicles exposed to rain or suspected water ingress shall not be charged immediately. A mandatory observation and drying period of not less than 48 hours shall be observed before charging. The battery shall be removed and charged separately from the vehicle using a 15 Amp charging socket; charging through a 5 Amp socket is strictly prohibited.

5.7. Pressure washing, direct water jet cleaning or steam cleaning near batteries, motors, controllers, charging ports or electrical systems shall be strictly prohibited. Exterior cleaning shall only be undertaken using controlled low-pressure wiping or damp cloth cleaning methods.

 

5.8. Operation of the vehicle shall immediately cease upon detection of electrical malfunction, dashboard warning indicators, abnormal heating, smoke, unusual odour, sparking, battery swelling, sudden power fluctuation or suspected water ingress.

 

  1. INSPECTION AND PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE

 

6.1. During the Monsoon Season, mandatory preventive inspection of battery compartments, charging ports, connectors, wiring, seals, controllers and electrical systems shall be conducted once every [7 days]

 

6.2. Where a vehicle has been exposed to flooding, heavy waterlogging, rainfall exceeding (1th    continuous hours] or accidental submersion, immediate inspection shall be mandatory further operation or charging.

 

6.3. Riders shall conduct a visual inspection before commencement of daily operations and specifically check for moisture accumulation, corrosion, loose wiring damaged was exposed connectors. warning indicators and abnormal buttery temperature.

 

6.4. Any indication of moisture, corrosion, overheating, electrical failure, warning signal Company battery behaviour, smoke, unusual odour or charging Irregularity shall be reported to the Company within a maximum period of [30 minutes] from detection

 

6.5. No Rider, customer or unauthorised person shall open, dismantle, modify, repair of tamper with the battery, BMS or electrical systems without prior written authorisation from the Company of its authorised service personnel.

 

  1. CHARGING AND BATTERY SAFETY

 

7.1. Charging cables, connectors and sockets shall be inspected by the Rider prior to each charging cycle. Use of damaged chargers, loose sockets, extension boards, non-certified adapters or unauthorised charging accessories shall be strictly prohibited.

 

7.2. Charging shall immediately be discontinued upon detection of abnormal heating, sparking, smoke. burning odour, fluctuating power supply or charging interruption.

 

7.3. Charging equipment shall not be connected or disconnected with wet hands, damp gloves, or water-exposed clothing. Batteries that have tripped shall not be charged until the cause of the trip has been identified and rectified.

 

7.4. Battery charging shall not be left unattended for a continuous duration exceeding (3 hours) unless undertaken at an authorised Company charging or monitoring facility.

 

  1. EMERGENCY RESPONSE PROCEDURE

 

8.1. In the event of suspected water ingress, electrical malfunction, smoke or battery abnormality, the vehicle shall immediately be moved to a safe, dry and ventilated location and operation shall cease forthwith.

 

8.2. Charging equipment, where safely possible, shall immediately be disconnected and the incident shall be reported to the Company’s designated helpline or service personnel within [15 minutes) of occurrence.

8.3. No person shall attempt unauthorised dismantling, repair, puncturing, force cooling or battery handling during an emergency situation

8.4.  In case of battery fire smoke emission of thermal Incident that maintain distance of [15 metres] from the vehicle and immediately contact emergency services and the Company’s authorised support personnel. Water shall not be directly poured onto active EV battery fire unless specifically advised by emergency responders of technically appropriate firefighting authorities

 

8.5. Vehicles involved in water ingress incidents shall remain quarantined and non-operational until certified safe for use by authorised inspection personnel 3rd party average of the Company personnel only.

 

  1. COMPANY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

9.1. The Company may issue operational advisories, weather alerts, inspection schedules, charging protocols and emergency safety directions from time to time for safe monsoon operations.

 

9.2. The Company may conduct periodic rider awareness programmes, preventive maintenance drives safety audits and inspection campaigns during the Monsoon Season.

 

9.3. The Company may suspend operation of vehicles, charging points or specific operational zones where weather conditions, flooding risks or safety exposure is considered materially hazardous.

 

  1. LIABILITY AND NON-COMPLIANCE

 

10.1. Any loss, damage, malfunction, thermal event, electrical failure or operational disruption arising from negligence, unauthorised handling, prohibited usage, concealment of defects, delayed reporting, failure to comply with inspection protocols or violation of this Policy shall render the concerned Rider, customer or responsible person liable for repair costs, replacement charges, operational losses, penalties, suspension or termination of engagement.

 

10.2. Repeated violations exceeding (2 instances) during a single Monsoon Season may result in suspension of vehicle access, charging privileges or operational authorisation pending safety review by the Company.

 

10.3. The Company reserves the right to recover losses and initiate disciplinary, contractual or legal proceedings in accordance with applicable law and Company policies.

 

 

 

  1. ENVIRONMENTAL AND SAFETY COMPLIANCE

11.1 All batteries and electrical components shall be handled stored transported and disposed of strictly in accordance with applicable environmental laws, battery waste management rules and Company safety directives.

 

11.2 Damaged, water-exposed or defective batteries shall not be discarded dismantled or stored in residential, heat prone or combustible locations and shall immediately be handed over to authorised personnel designated by the Company.

 

  1. REVIEW AND AMENDMENT

 

12.1. The Company reserves the right to amend, modify, supplement or revise this policy a and such based on operational, technical, regulatory, environmental or safety requirements and such amendments shall become binding with immediate effect unless otherwise specified.

 

  1. EFFECTIVE DATE

 

13.1. This Policy shall come into force with effect from the date of the resolution passed by the Board of Directors of the Company on 16th June 2026.

 

Riders and users acknowledge that operation of electric vehicles during the Monsoon Season involves inherent operational and environmental risks and agree to exercise enhanced caution and reasonable care at all times.

Continued use, operation, charging or possession of the Company vehicle during the Monsoon Season shall constitute deemed acceptance of and compliance with this Policy.

Any damage arising due to operation contrary to this Policy may void applicable warranty coverage, insurance support or service eligibility as determined by the Company or authorised manufacturer.
